Stephen Herrmann Memorial Scholarship
Dr. Stephen Herrmann was born in 1918 in Cocoa, FL. He received his primary education at Saint Anthony School in San Antonio, FL and attended secondary school at Saint Paul High School in Jacksonville, FL. He received a B.A. in philosophy from Saint Benedict’s College in 1941, an M.A. in philosophy from Catholic University of America in 1950 and a Ed.D. in curriculum and administration from the University of Florida in 1962.
Dr. Herrmann began his career with Saint Leo in 1941 as a residence counselor of Saint Leo College Preparatory School and held a number of positions including a stint as headmaster from 1954-59. At Saint Leo College he served as registrar from 1959-60 and then as president from 1961-68.
Dr. Herrmann passed away in 2001 at the age of 83.
